I did a "thing" the other day and it was SO useful, I thought I MUST share it with you, Reader!

As we're fast approaching the end of 2024, I simply reviewed the year...

"What's the big deal about that Sophie?" I hear you ask...

Well, believe me, it was eye-opening! And I reckon this simple exercise will help me grow my income significantly in 2025...

Which is why I want to share with you, so you can do this too.

Here's what I did — and what I want YOU to do, before opening the champagne and turning on the Spotify Christmas playlist 😜:

I opened a brand new Google doc, and I literally "brain-dumped" everything I did this year to make money.

Everything. The good, the bad, and the "what-was-I-thinking" stuff...

Then I created a simple table with two columns: "Wins" and "Challenges".

And I organised all my income generating attempts in the two columns, depending on whether they'd been a success or not.

Then I dug a little deeper and added "why".

Why did activity A generate 10k whilst activity B brought in peanuts?

Does this make sense to you so far?

This allowed me to see a pattern and really understand what works in my business, and what doesn't.

And just so you have a concrete example of how this works, I'll share more with you:

Three "things" (yep, only three!) generate my business's income:

1. My email list
2. My YouTube channel
3. The relationship I've built with my audience (that's YOU 🥰)

That's it.

Nothing very complicated!

Just showing up consistently, writing emails like this one, creating videos, and truly caring about helping my audience succeed.

Now let's turn to you, Reader!

Go ahead and do this exercise for yourself:

• Open a Google doc — or take a piece of paper
• "Braindump" everything you did this year in order to make money
• Create a simple table with two columns
• Separate your "braindump" into two categories, one for wins and one for challenges
• Enter all the wins in one column and all the challenges in the other

Once you've done this, take a hard look at what brought you wins...

What worked?

What made you money?

Why did it work?

Can you see a pattern?

Can you do more of it?

If you haven't made any money at all this year, here's what might have happened:

• You haven't actually started yet (no judgment here, we all begin somewhere!)
• You tried everything under the sun but nothing stuck
• You focused on perfecting your logo instead of creating valuable content
• You're still in learning mode (nothing wrong with that!)
• You changed direction more often than my GPS when I get lost in the Swiss alps

Whatever you discover, don't judge yourself.

Just use this information to make 2025 a lot better than 2024.

If you're making money, pinpoint what brings in most of it and then focus your plan for the new year around doing more of this.

If you're not making any money at all yet, this exercise should help you understand why and do things differently next year.

And if you haven't started yet?
