this simple trick will keep you going


Do you ever sit down to "work on your business" and just stare at the screen?

You know you need to do something... but what exactly?

There's so much you to do, right?

So much you could do... so much you should do...

Posting on social media, writing an email, creating a video, answering DMs and comments...

The list is endless and it can be so f***ing overwhelming!

So you end up scrolling through other people's content, feeling more and more like everyone else has got their sh*t together and is making a ton of money...

Before you know it, two hours have passed and you've done absolutely nothing that actually moves the needle.

And you feel bad, guilty, and more overwhelmed than ever.

I get it, Reader, I really do.

I'm not just saying that.

The overwhelm and confusion are REAL.

And with more content out there than ever before, I feel it's getting worse!

There are endless possibilities of what we can do, billions of hours of content we could consume, and emails hitting our inboxes every two minutes.

It can be really, REALLY tough to know what to focus on.

But it's not all doom and gloom :-)

Let me share a simple tip that will help you.

This tip starts with a short story:

Every Tuesday, I go to a class at my gym called "Weight Power".

And yes, you've guessed it right: we lift weights, for 50 minutes.

It's a tough class, with most of the participants being half my age...

But our instructor, Catherine, has a magic weapon to help us push past our limits...

No, it's not a whip lol... it's a simple TIMER.

We do interval training, you see: 45 seconds of weight lifting, followed by 15 seconds of rest.

And every 45 second interval ends with a voice counting down:

"5... 4... 3... 2... 1... REST!"

That countdown timer is gold.

Because by the time we've been lifting for 40 seconds, we all want to give up (even the young and super fit guys in the room are clearly struggling)!

But the timer helps us hold on for those last few seconds that make all the difference.

The timer keeps us going, the timer keeps us focused.

And that's the simple trick that will help you in your business:

Pick one simple task and allocate a set time to do it.

Then just get it done.

And then move on to the next one.

Take it step by step, just like you would do if you were working out at the gym.

To be clear: make sure you set an actual timer - it helps massively! You'll get more done thanks to the timer, it's magic.

It will cut overwhelm and before you know it, you'll more focused, more efficient, and breathing a lot easier.

Try it the next time you find yourself staring at the screen, paralysed and unable to move forward.
